1. jump through hoops

hoop是一种用木头、金属或塑料制成的环，jump through hoops形容的是“克服种种障碍、饱受折磨”。

We had to jump through hoops to get my Dad admitted to hospital.

我们必须克服种种障碍才让医院收下我父亲。

2. give sb a piece of your mind

△米奇尔他们去动物中心领养小猫，却被告知不合条件，不能领养，卡梅隆很生气。

give sb a piece of your mind感觉就是给谁点颜色看看，翻译为“严厉责备，斥责（某人）”。

斥责一般有这几种表达：

①rebuke

I was rebuked by my manager for being late.

我因为迟到而遭到经理的训斥。

②reprimand

She was reprimanded by her teacher for biting another girl.

她因为咬了另一个女孩而受到了老师的训斥。

③revile

What right had the crowd to revile the players for something they could not help?

观众有什么权力因为队员们无能为力的事情而谩骂他们？

3. in store

in store不是储藏的意思嘛，有句话叫未雨绸缪，囤东西就是要为以后做准备。

所以in store也有“即将发生”的意思哦：

You never know what's in store for you.

你永远不会知道等待你的是什么。
