欧盟食品安全局称，硒元素是脊椎动物维持代谢功能的一类必需元素。亚硒酸钠可作为动物所需硒安全与有效的来源。如果在限量许可范围内使用，那么对于消费者来讲是安全的，也不会对环境构成风险、�/p>

Following a request from the European Commission, the Panel on Additives and Products or Substances used in Animal Feed （FEEDAP� was asked to deliver a scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of selenium compounds as feed additive for all animal species: sodium selenite, based on a dossier submitted by Todini Vital Chemicals S.P.A.

Selenium is a trace element that is essential for vertebrates and is involved in a series of vital metabolic functions （e.g. prevention of oxidative stress, proper thyroid function, maintenance of cellular redox status, immunocompetence, detoxification of heavy metals and xenobiotics）、�/p>
