Under the authority of the Pest Control Products Act, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has granted full registration to technical grade fluoxastrobin and the end-use product Evito 480 SC Fungicide for use in Canada on barley, corn, peppers, potatoes, soybeans, strawberries, tomatoes and wheat. The specific uses approved in Canada are detailed on the label of Evito 480 SC Fungicide, Pest Control Products Act Registration Number 30408.
Corresponding maximum residue limits (MRLs) were identified in Proposed Maximum Residue Limit PMRL2012-35, Fluoxastrobin published on 10 May 2012. The PMRL referenced the consultation document, Proposed Registration Decision PRD2012-07, Fluoxastrobin, posted to the Health Canada website on 2 March 2012. Import MRLs for leaf petioles (Crop Subgroup 4B) were also proposed in PRD2012-07. The PMRA received no comments in response to the consultation under the Proposed Registration Decision.
To comply with Canada's international trade obligations, consultation on the proposed MRL was also conducted internationally by notifying the World Trade Organization, as coordinated by the Standards Council of Canada. No comments were received as a result of the World Trade Organization consultation impacting the proposed MRLs.
