The Food Standards Agency is inviting proposals to design and carry out a dietary survey of children living in Scotland. The deadline for receipt of applications is 7 August 2009.
The survey will use a validated food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) to measure and collect data on the intake of non-milk extrinsic sugars (NMES) and fat (total and saturated) expressed as a percentage of total energy intake among children aged 3-16 years living in Scotland.
Proposals should also collect information on meals and snacking habits with additional emphasis on those foods eaten outside the home. This information will be important to measure progress towards the Scottish Dietary Targets and will be used to inform new policy initiatives aimed at children.
The full specification and details of the application process can be found via the link below.
