原文报道: February 27, 2009 -- Reser's Fine Foods, Inc. of Beaverton, OR is voluntarily recalling bulk pack size Thai Noodle Salad because it has the potential of being contaminated with salmonella. This product was manufactured using lot specific peanuts recalled by Peanut Corporation of America's Plainview, Texas facility because they have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella.
Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with this product.
The recalled Pasta Thai Noodle was distributed to retailers and foodservice distributors in OR, WA, IL, ND, MT, ID, CA, SD, Alberta and British Columbia.
This product is limited to 118 cases of a bulk package size containing two 5 lb. tubs of Reser's UPC code No. 71117.14225 Thai Noodle Salad with Use By Dates (code dates) of 3/1/09 and 3/8/09. The product is sold in a tub labeled with the UPC on the lid. The tub lid is also marked with the Use By Date on the lid edge.
Reser's has replaced the peanut supplier for this product.
Customers who bought Thai Noodle Salad (Item No. 71117.14225) with the 3/1/09 or 3/8/09 Use By Dates should not consume it. They should return it to the store where it was purchased.
Reser's has notified the FDA of this recall.
