Fish roe and caviar for human consumption
Effective from 30 April 2020
The Department has updat
ed the Fish roe and caviar for human co
nsumption BICON Case to add an information notice to clarify that all im
ports of uncanned, unretorted salmon from approved countries must be sufficiently heat treated prior to im
port into Australian territory. Changes have also been made to align the manufacturers declaration requirements for retorted or canned salmon roe with the declaration requirements of the Retorted Aquatics pathway in the Retorted Goods case.
