Regulations Respecting the Stabilization of the Price of Sugar Beets Marketed in 1986

Her Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and the Treasury Board, pursuant to sections 2*, 8.2**, 10*** and 11**** of the Agricultural Stabilization Act, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Regulations respecting the stabilization of the price of sugar beets marketed in 1986.

SHORT TITLE
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Sugar Beet Stabilization Regulations, 1986.
INTERPRETATION
2. In these Regulations,
“Act” means the Agricultural Stabilization Act; (Loi)
“market period” means the period beginning on July 1, 1986 and ending on December 31, 1986. (période de commercialisation)
“sugar beets” means sugar beets grown in Canada by a producer in the calendar year 1986 and sold during the market period by the producer for processing; (betterave à sucre)
DESIGNATION
3. Sugar beets are hereby designated as an agricultural commodity for the purposes of the Act.
PRESCRIBED PERCENTAGE
4. For the purpose of determining the prescribed price of sugar beets in the market period, the percentage of the base price of sugar beets of the year 1986 is hereby prescribed to be 99.8 per cent.
