英国色素新规定Regulation (EC) 1333/2008 on Food Additives

Regulation (EC) 1333/2008 on Food Additives (attached in email), which was published on 31 December 2008, introduces special labelling provisions for foods containing one or more of the following food colours:

E102 Tartrazine / CI food yellow 4 / FD&C yellow no. 5
E104 Quinoline Yellow / CI food yellow 13
E110 Sunset Yellow FCF / CI food yellow 3 / Orange yellow S / FD&C yellow no. 6
E122 Camoisine / Azorubine / CI food red 3

E124 Cochineal A / Ponceau red A / CI food red 7 / New coccine
E129 Allura Red AC / CI food red 17 / FD&C red no. 40

Article 24 of Regulation (EC) 1333/2008 states that any food containing one or more of the food colours listed in Annex V (as above) must carry the following warning on its packaging“may have an adverse affect on activity and attention in children.”
Article 35 states that this legislation will apply to any such foods packaged from 20th July 2010. Any such food items packaged prior to this date are exempt from having to state the above warning.
